Ugandan pastor makes it to Sheringham
2018: Pastor Steve Musisi from Lumpewe in Uganda has finally arrived in the UK, and will be visiting Sheringham next week. Anyone interested to meet him is warmly invited to an open evening at Lighthouse Community Church on Tuesday October 30. Tony Rothe reports.
Pastor Musisi’s visit to Sheringham had been scheduled for the beginning of October, but delays in obtaining his visa caused this to be postponed. He will be in Sheringham all next week and is happy to meet as many people as possible, especially as so many have been supportive of the work being done at the Ugandan school.
The visit is being organised by the Reed People charity, based at Lighthouse in Sheringham, which has been working with the village of Lumpewe in Uganda to re-build and equip their primary school, and to support the ongoing work and eventual expansion of the school. They have also been providing medical, teaching and life skills, and helping to empower women.
The open evening on Tuesday October 30 at Lighthouse, 52 Cromer Road, Sheringham, NR26 8RT will run from 7.30pm until around 9pm, and all are welcome to come along and hear what Pastor Musisi, pictured right with his family, has to say about life in Lumpewe.
He will also be preaching at the 10.15am service this Sunday (28th), and speaking at the Kaleidoscope group on Tuesday (30th).

The next “Sewathon” organised by Reed People will take place at Lighthouse from 8am to 8pm on Saturday November 17 when a team of willing sew-ers will be making ladies’ pads, pillowcase dresses and headbands, and they hope to make boys shorts out of no longer wanted t-shirts, as well as washbags. These will all be taken out to Lumpewe when the Reed people team make their next visit in the Spring of 2019. Anyone willing to help with this sewing marathon, even for only an hour, should contact Elaine as above.
