ChristmasCard750PXChristmas card shop opens at St Peter Mancroft

The original Norwich Charity Christmas Card shop will be opening in St Peter Mancroft church on Tuesday October 20.

This will be the 55th year of opening. The card shop is staffed entirely by volunteers and all the money from card sales goes to the charities involved. Last year the shop raised nearly £32,000.

The shop will be opening Mondays to Saturdays, 11.15 am to 2.30 pm until Saturday December 12. There are 20 charities involved this year, a mixture of local, national and international charities.

There will be not just cards but calendars, wrapping paper, tags and other seasonal items. A raffle of Christmas Hampers will raise funds to cover costs.

“Many charities' fundraising efforts have been negatively impacted by the COVID pandemic,” said Liz Magem, Secretary of the Original Norwich Charity Christmas Card Shop.

“We are immensely grateful to Revd Canon Edward Carter, Vicar, St Peter Mancroft for offering space within the church for the card shop and to Chris Sanham, the Head Verger, for his fantastic support enabling us to open the shop with a COVID-safe environment.”
