Harry’s skydive raises £1K for Yarmouth church

Harry Woods, Community Manager at Great Yarmouth Salvation Army has taken part in a skydive to raise fund for the centre, and it’s not too late to sponsor him. Tony Rothe reports.

The skydive took place at Beccles Airfield on Thursday 21 April and has already raised £1056 with funds still coming in. All the money raised will go towards the work of the Salvation Army in Great Yarmouth, which includes a large Foodbank operation on Monday and Tuesdays every week giving out up to 100 food parcels, weekly luncheon clubs for those on their own or lonely and clubs and activities for those struggling with memory difficulties.

Harry said “It was terrifying and amazing all at the same time! Even jumping out of the plane I was reminded of that song with wings like eagles. It was great to be able to take this leap of faith and showcase the great and amazing work that the Salvation Army does here in Great Yarmouth and up and down the country.

“Also, to testify to God’s amazing love for us all, and the hope we find in salvation through having Him work in and through us.  With the Holy Spirit’s power, nothing is impossible or out of reach!”

Harry thanked everyone for their support, and sponsorship, and prayers, pointed out that their work would not be possible without this.
