FOL Christmas Alive 750CF
Bethlehem and Scrooge in mid-Norfolk village

A church car park transformed into Bethlehem, and a re-imagining of the story of Scrooge are the experiences on offer next month at “Christmas Alive” at a church in Ashill, near Swaffham.

Fountain of Life Church will be transforming their car park into ancient Bethlehem bustling with activity, and visitors can wander through the atmospheric village street and enjoy the sights, aromas and flavours of this biblical town, complete with live animals, wooden market stalls and actors in traditional costumes.

Attractions include a donkey and sheep, craftsmen and craftswomen, taster stalls, kids craft activities, selfie-booth, fire pits, mulled wine and mince pies, games, music, and traditional dancing. There will be no charge, and visitors can just turn up.

Then there will be a production of “Scrooge Re-worked” Festive Musical Theatre inside the church. Amanda Harris, from Fountain of Life, said “This will be an awesome, interactive, quality musical performance. This brilliant production takes the story of Scrooge to a whole new level! One child, one man, one life-changing night after which the world will never be the same again!”

Christmas Alive will take place on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 December during the afternoon, with Scrooge Reworked performances at 3:30pm and 6:30pm, and the Outdoor Nativity Village open throughout that period. Tickets for the performance are free but there is a £1 booking fee to reserve your seat. You don't need tickets for the outdoor Nativity village. To book, click here.

Fountain of Life Church is at The Well, Swaffham Road, Ashill, IP25 7BT. The church building is wheelchair accessible, parking is free, and there are toilet facilities.
